Barrister Assistance Programs |

To address the lack of Indigenous Barristers within the Victorian Bar, several programs have been put into place: - The Victorian Bar has established the Indigenous Barristers Fund.
- The Victorian Bar offer one fully paid place for an Indigenous person during each Bar Reader's Course.
- ILSLAV-Tarwirri assist with promoting the new barrister though our legal networks and associate members in the legal profession.
Member Hans Bokelund (pictured) and Brendan Loizou are currently the only Indigenous barristers practising in Victoria. Admitted barrister Linda Lovett is planning on returning to the Victorian Bar in several years time.
