Law Institute Journal July 2025 features Brian Bero

Tarwirri proudly celebrates Brian Bero, a proud Meriam (Torres Strait Islander) man, lawyer and longstanding Tarwirri member, who is featured on the cover of the Law Institute Journal (LIJ).

The July 2025 edition features an article on titled “Enterprising Vision”, highlighting Brian’s career, leadership and work across commercial law, First Nations economic development and renewable energy.

The article explores Brian’s work advising First Nations organisations and businesses, including his involvement in renewable energy opportunities and his work with the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria on the governance of Indigenous data.

Brian reflects on the value of bringing both his corporate and commercial legal experience and a cultural perspective to his work, particularly when working on matters affecting First Nations communities.

He also speaks about the importance of creating opportunities for the next generation of First Nations lawyers and ensuring First Nations people have greater representation in the profession.

Tarwirri is proud to see Brian’s achievements, leadership and vision recognised by the Victorian legal profession.
