Tarwirri proudly congratulates Sue-Anne Hunter, proud Wurundjeri and Ngurai Illum Wurrung woman and long-standing Tarwirri member, on her appointment as the inaugural National Commissioner for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children and Young People.

Sue-Anne is an inspiring, highly qualified and highly respected First Nations leader who has made a significant contribution to advocacy, justice and the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.

As the inaugural Commissioner, Sue-Anne will play an important role in ensuring the voices, rights, culture and experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people are recognised and protected at a national level.

This historic appointment marks a significant step towards a future where every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander child and young person can grow up safe, supported, connected to culture and able to thrive.

Tarwirri is incredibly proud to see our long-standing member take on this important national leadership role and congratulates Sue-Anne on this well-deserved appointment.
