Tarwirri Celebrates the Admission of Jarrara Atkinson

In December 2025, Tarwirri proudly celebrated the admission of Tarwirri member Jarrara Atkinson to the legal profession.
Jarrara is a proud Yorta Yorta and Bangerang man from Northern Victoria. His admission was a significant moment for Jarrara, his family, Tarwirri and the broader First Nations legal community.
Tarwirri Executive Officer, Tekan Cochrane, had the honour of moving Jarrara’s admission, having mentored him over the past few years and seen him persevere, grow and go from strength to strength.
Admission to the legal profession is an important milestone. It marks years of study, commitment, perseverance and dedication. For First Nations law graduates, this achievement also carries broader significance, contributing to the growing presence and visibility of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within the legal profession.
Tarwirri congratulates Jarrara on this important achievement and acknowledges his dedication to the legal sector. We look forward to seeing the contribution he will continue to make as a First Nations lawyer.
Moments like this remind us why representation matters and why First Nations-led support and connection remain essential. Every First Nations lawyer admitted to the profession helps open the door wider for those who follow.
