Law Institute of Victoria President’s Award for Outstanding Service recognises Tekan Cochrane and Antoinette Braybrooke AM

Tarwirri is proud to congratulate Tekan Cochrane, Tarwirri Executive Officer, and long-standing member Antoinette Braybrooke AM, who were both recognised with the Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) President’s Award for Outstanding Service on 1 October 2026.

The LIV President’s Award for Outstanding Service is a prestigious recognition of individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the LIV, the legal profession or a particular field of endeavour, going above and beyond what might reasonably be expected through voluntary contribution.

The award recognises the significant contribution that individuals make to the profession and community through leadership, service, mentoring, advocacy and ongoing involvement in the work of the LIV.

Antoinette Braybrooke AM has also made a longstanding contribution to the Victorian legal profession and to the work of the LIV.

For Tekan, the recognition reflects her longstanding contribution to the legal profession, including her work supporting First Nations lawyers and law students, advancing cultural safety and reconciliation within the profession, and contributing to the LIV’s work through the Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group.

Tarwirri extends its warmest congratulations to Antoinette and Tekan on this well-deserved recognition. Their contributions demonstrate the impact that dedicated service, leadership and commitment can have across the legal profession and the broader community.

Congratulations Tekan and Antoinette on this significant achievement.
